Preparator Lanora Pierce has been helping with the Marigold Festival, to be held this weekend in Winterville, Georgia. Specifically, she assisted festival planners and sculptor Doug Makemson with the installation of three of his large animal sculptures, which the museum is sponsoring. Makemson had an exhibition on the grounds of the museum a few years ago, and we very much enjoyed his playful yet fierce creations. Pierce took photos of the installation this afternoon, and the slideshow of her photographs is below. We hope you can make it to the Marigold Festival in the early part of the day before you come to Art on Wheels in the evening.
