"Home Is Where The Heart Is"

Athens Area Habitat for Humanity is hosting its third annual “Home Is Where The Heart Is” silent art auction next week. The auction showcases handcrafted art from local artists and will benefit the Women Build Campaign. Bidding will start as low as $20.

The Women Build program actively involves women in Habitat for Humanity, from planning special events to participating in Habitat builds. This year’s Women Build theme is “Investing in Our Community.”

 

Athens Habitat is currently seeking submissions for the auction. The deadline is Wednesday, February 10. A batch of flat wooden houses to be designed and decorated is available, but artists are also allowed to submit any medium that fits with the event’s theme. “Home Is Where The Heart Is” will take place on Thursday, February 18 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Hotel Indigo in downtown Athens.
