Art from Unusual Materials

Here are two examples of art created using unusual materials or methods to inspire you this morning.


New Scientist reports on Nikon's Small World competition, which features micrographs (or photographs taken with a microscope). The above is Pedro Barrios-Perez's image of a wrinkled photoresist, "a photolithographic emulsion used in semiconductor manufacture." There's a great slideshow to click through.


And then there's the above, by Mark Khaisman, made from packing tape, his material of choice.
