Umberto Eco, Italian author of “The Name of the Rose,” has been named the Louvre Museum’s guest of honor for 2009, according to an Associated Press article on
artdaily.org. Along with this title, Eco has been given the opportunity to propose a series of exhibitions, concerts and conferences that will run from November 2 to December 13, 2009.
Eco’s series, titled “The Vertigo of Lists,” will include events such as a conference on the 16th-century Flemish artist Pieter Bruegel the Elder and a performance art piece that features lists found in famous literary works.
